Unnao (Uttar Pradesh): The eight-year-old nephew of the rape victim from Uttar Pradesh's Unnao district, who died in December 2019, has been missing for the past two days, police said on Saturday.
According to reports, the family members of the boy had tried tracing him after he went missing, but to no avail. The family then informed the police.
Today morning, Unnao SP Anand Kulkarni, ASP Vinod Kumar Pandey and other police officers reached the village under Bihar police station limits, and recorded the statement of the family.
"Yesterday, we received information about a missing boy from Bihar police station limits. The family has raised suspicion on five persons, following which we filed an FIR against the five persons. The five persons named in the FIR include three women and two men," Kulkarni said.
The sister of the deceased gang-rape victim has accused five persons from the same village of kidnapping the boy. She also claimed that the family of the rape-accused was involved in the kidnapping.

Meanwhile, the police said that they have constituted teams and are undertaking combing operations to trace the missing boy.
Earlier in December last year, a rape victim from Uttar Pradesh's Unnao district died after being airlifted to Delhi and admitted to the Safdarjung Hospital after she was set on fire allegedly by five persons.
The Unnao rape victim was set afire by five men, including her two alleged rapists, when she was going to Rae Bareli to attend a court hearing in the rape case filed by her.
