Meerut: Two people were killed in a firing between two groups under Mundali police station limits after an argument broke out over playing cricket.
It reportedly took place because of an old rivalry. According to available information, sons of the former head of Jisaura village Niyaz Ahmed and Ajbar quarrelled over playing cricket.
On Tuesday late night, both the group started arguing again after which they started firing at each other. During the firing, Ajbar's sons Khalik (20) and Majeed (18) were shot.
Khalik died on the spot while Majeed succumbed to his injuries while on the way to the hospital.
On receiving information, CO Ramanand Kushwaha and the Station Head along with the Mandali Police Force reached the spot.
"Two people have been arrested along with Niyaz Ahmed. Other accused in the case will be arrested soon," SP Dehat, Avinash Pandey said.
