Saharanpur: Clerics from the Darul Uloom Deoband on Tuesday prohibited Muslims from posting videos on TikTok App terming the act as 'Un-Islamic' and against the Sharia law.
The Ulema said that doing unnecessary videography and photography is not allowed in Islam.
While speaking to ETV Bharat, Mufti Asad Kasami of Jamia Shaikh-ul Hind said, "In Islam clicking a picture with useless intention is totally illegal."
He said Islam does not permit videography or clicking of pictures for unnecessary purposes or to save them as memories.
"If a video or photo is made for useful purposes, it is fine but for useless things such as to upload in apps like Tik Tok, it is not right," Kasami said.
"But despite knowing the Sharia law, Muslim youth continue to indulge in such kind of activities which is very unfortunate," he added.
