Tableaux in Varanasi to showcase Modi's flagship public schemes

Before filing his nomination papers, PM Modi will hold a roadshow in the holy city Varanasi. Tableaux of the schemes will be placed in an exhibition titled 'Modi Hai to Mumkin Hain' in the roadshow that will begin from Banaras Hindu University and will culminate in the banks of Ganga.

Varanasi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi's mega roadshow, a day ahead of filing his nomination from Varanasi, is set to showcase his government's achievements via a series of tableaux depicting public schemes and developmental programs initiated by the centre in the past five years. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold a roadshow here on Thursday evening.

Tableau will be placed in public at Gidolia Crossing with the title 'Modi Hai to Mumkin Hain' during the roadshow that will begin from Banaras Hindu University and culminate on the banks of river Ganga.

The schemes included will be Ujjwala Yojana, Saubhagya Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Swachh Bharat mission, Ayushman Bharat Yojana and others.The aim behind portraying these tableaux are to make people aware of the benefits of these schemes as claimed by the centre.During the 2014 general elections, BJP won 17 of the 18 Lok Sabha constituencies in the region and the only loss of seat was Azamgarh that was won by Samajwadi Party patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav.

Varanasi will vote on May 19, the last phase of the ensuing seven-phased Lok Sabha elections 2019. Uttar Pradesh, where 80 Lok Sabha seats are at stake, is witnessing voting during all seven phases. Voting for 26 Lok Sabha seats in UP was over in the first three phases.

The counting of votes will take place on May 23.
