Agra: In a freaky incident, a fully pregnant woman delivered a baby in the wilderness, when she went to relieve herself and ended up losing the child!

The incident was reported from Jodhpura village in Agra's Pinahat block and the whereabouts of the baby is still unknown. Relatives and locals suspect that the newborn must have been killed by a wild animal.

According to sources, the woman was on her way to the fields when she started having labour pains and subsequently gave birth to the baby and fell unconscious.

When she did not return home on time, her family members started searching for her.

After a while, Pinky, in her state of unconsciousness, was found lying in the field, but her newborn was missing.

"When I went out to relieve in the fields near the jungle, I started experiencing labour pains. I did not even realise when I delivered the baby. My family found me and brought me back at home," told Pinky in a hoarse voice.

"When we found her near the jungle, her baby was missing. We don't know what happened to it- whether someone took it or it was eaten by a wild animal," informed Pinky's father-in-law Lalit Kumar.

This unusual incident has highlighted the issue of the lack of proper sanitation facilities in the village.

"Several schemes were announced, but to date, we still don't have proper provision for sanitation. When I took the matter to the gram pradhan, he dismissed my concerns saying that no more toilets will be constructed in the village," said Pinky's father-in-law, while demanding strict action against the gram pradhan.
