Members of a Hindu group are said to have razed down a public toilet near a temple in Sharanpur in Uttar Pradesh.

Saharanpur: A case has been registered against 17 people of Hindu organization for damaging government property after they demolished a public toilet built by the Municipal Corporation at the Sadar bazaar bus stand.

The Uttar Pradesh Transport Department filed a lawsuit against the Hindu organization members who had been demanding the removal of public urinal built behind a temple.

A few days ago, in a viral video, it was claimed that a public toilet has been built at the bus stand near the railway station the back wall of which is connected to a temple.

Following that some Hindu organization activists locked the toilet at the roadways bus stand and warned the Municipal Corporation that if the toilet is not removed within 2 days, then they themselves will remove it.

Before the Municipal Corporation could do anything, the workers destroyed the toilet.

A case has been lodged against Kamaljit Singh Luthra, Visha Singh Kamboj, Abhishek Arode, Abhishek Pandit, Abhilash Tuli, Rahul Singh, Avinash Singh, Sumit Kamboj, Rohit Singh, Sumit Singh, Sunny Singh, Rahul Jha, Vikas Tyagi, Deepak Arora, Aditya Namdev, Rudra Shiv Pandit, Vijay Kalra for damaging public assets.

Vineet Bhatnagar, City SP said that there was a public toilet at the roadways bus stand which was destroyed by unruly elements. The police reached the spot as soon as this information was received, and the miscreants ran away.

A complaint was given by the Roadways officer on which investigation is being done. Based on the evidence of the investigation, strict action will be taken against everyone involved in it.
