Shamli: A team of health officials were attacked in Uttar Pradesh's Shamli when it tried to collect corona test samples in the slum area. The team's car was vandalized while its driver was injured during the incident.
Dr Meenakshi Dhiman from the team has filed a complaint with the police and demanded legal action against the attacker.
Under the corona testing campaign, the Health Department these days are covering the slum areas of the district and under the leadership of Dr Meenakshi, a team had gone to the city block road Dhewa Basti for sampling.
The team included LT Nakul, staff nurse Ritu and car driver Praveen.

As the team was taking a corona sample near the Urban PHC, a young man named Arvind started misbehaving with them and creating a hindrance in the sampling work. When the driver tried to intervene, Arvind started beating him up with a stick.
When the police came to know of the incident, it reached the spot and started looking for Arvind. However, he managed to slip away.
An investigation has been initiated into the matter.
