Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh): Mauritius President Prithvirajsing Roopun on Thursday visited here with his family members and offers prayer at the Kashi Vishwanath temple.
The president also attended 'Ganga Arti' on the banks of the sacred river at evening with his wife.
While interacting with media, Roopun appreciated the work of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his Lok Sabha Constituency.
Sharing his experience at Varanasi, the president of Mauritius said, "I feel delighted that I got a chance to visit this sacred place. I had visited this place a year ago. The whole town has been changed within a year."
The leader further appreciated the developmental work of PM Modi and added, "He has done such a great job in the field of development and cleanliness of the ancient town."
When asked about the relationship with the oldest democracy, the President said, "Once, Congress president Sonia Gandhi said that Mauritius is 'mini- India, and PM Modi said Mauritius is not special for us but 'super-special' for India."
The president of Wednesday completed his two- days visit of Bihar where he offered 'pind daan' for his father at Gaya and visited the ancient Nalanda university.
