Man loses control over car, hits two people

A car went out of control, hit two pedestrians and a cow before crashing into shops on the pavement in Kanpur late Sunday night. According to police, the driver who is the owner of Royal hotel in Guj Mandi has been arrested and the injured ones have been admitted to Hallett hospital in the city.

COVID-19 Lockdown: Man loses control over car hits two people in Kanpur

Kanpur: Fear and tension prevailed at Bhusa Toli area of Kanpur when a car went out of control and hit at least two pedestrians and a cow before crashing into the shops on the pavement late Sunday night.

As per reports, the driver of the car Suresh Chandra Mishra, was allegedly driving in a rash and negligent manner and lost control of the vehicle, which first hit two pedestrians and then a cow, before the car mounted the pavement at Clock tower and crashed into four shops.

However, police are yet to confirm if the driver of the vehicle was in an inebriated condition.

The injured Arun Kumar Tomar and Manish Omar who were initially taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment, have been referred to Hallett hospital after their condition was stated to be serious.

According to police, the driver who is the owner of Royal hotel in Guj Mandi has been arrested and further investigation into the matter is underway.

This comes at a time when police across the country are working tirelessly to enforce lockdown in the view of the coronavirus outbreak and have been asking people to remain indoors.
