Jaunpur: A woman was allegedly killed by her lover in Jaunpur district of Uttar Pradesh, police said on Tuesday.
The man Hari Kanchan, a resident of Newada village of Jalalpur had fallen for his brother's sister-in-law Soni.
According to the police, Soni's marriage was fixed with someone else and after knowing about it, Hari proposed her to which she denied.
Later, in anger, Hari attacked Soni with an axe and fled from the spot.
After hearing her voice, her family members went to her and immediately took her to the hospital, where doctors declared her dead.
On the information, Jalalpur police has reached the spot and a search for the accused is on.
