Lucknow man dies by suicide after French wife changes her status to 'single' on social media

A woman living in France changed her marital status on social media to 'single'. Upset over this, her husband residing in Uttar Pradesh's Lucknow died by suicide.

Lucknow: A woman living in France changed her marital status on social media to 'single'. Upset over this, her husband residing in UP's Lucknow died by suicide. Their conjugal life was on the rocks for a long time and the emotional bonding widened over some time. Vikasnagar police station Inspector said that the deceased Piyush was the son of a retired IAS officer PN Dwivedi. He was married to a French woman. It is learnt from the relatives that the deceased's relationship with his French wife had turned sour. A marital discord was going on between the duo for quite some time. He died by suicide due to a rift in the conjugal life.

On receiving information, police rushed to the spot and launched an investigation. The deceased was a resident of Vikasnagar Colony in Lucknow. The family members of the deceased are in a state of shock. Police said that no suicide note was recovered from the spot. Vikasnagar police station Inspector said that the wife of the deceased, who stays in France, had mentioned her 'status as single' on her social media account. Upset over changing her marital status, the deceased was living under depression. He was very much disturbed by this. He was hurt by his wife's behaviour, said sources.

Police said that the probe into the incident is underway. Police shifted the body to a mortuary for the post-mortem. Relatives were mourning the demise of Piyush. While a pall of gloom descended on the family.
