Kanpur encounter: Video clip of Shashikant's wife narrating the incident goes viral

Nearly two weeks after Shashikant Pandey's wife had hit the headlines when some of her audio clips went viral where she is heard calling up her father-in-law Prem Prakash and discussing the preparations for the ambush, a video clip of her narrating the incident that took place on the intervening night of July 2/ 3 night in Bikru village, has surfaced on the internet on Sunday.

Kanpur: A video clip of Manu-wife of Shashikant Pandey, a cousin and close aide of the slain gangster Vikas Dubey-narrating alleged sequence of events in the gun battle that ensued on the intervening night of July 2/ 3 night in Bikru village, has surfaced on the internet on Sunday.

This came nearly two weeks after Manu had hit the headlines when some of her audio clips went viral where she is heard calling up her father-in-law Prem Prakash and discussing the preparations for the ambush.

In the video, Manu can be seen talking to one of her family members, who is not visible in the video but the voice resembles to be that of a man, about the ambush in which eight police personnel were killed.

"After Atul alerted Vikas and Amar that CO Devendra Mishra is near Shashikant's house, the duo shot the police personnel and he died on the spot," Manu can be heard revealing how Vikas and his family members had killed the policemen in the video.

"My room is near to the place where the ambush took place and I even heard Vikas Dubey abusing the police, who came to arrest him. I heard and saw everything that took place on July 2," she added.

As the video progresses she can be heard saying, "Vikas Dubey is a no less than a murderer, because of him I lost my father."

A total of three clips of Manu has gone viral in social media so far in connection with the incident.

In the first audio clip, she was heard revealing how Vikas and his family members along with locals have killed the policemen. In the second audio clip, Manu Pandey and a relative were heard talking. In it, Manu was allegedly heard requesting someone to delete her number from phone. In the third one, Manu can be heard talking to one of the perpetrators- Bauaa, who had died in the encounter. The clip indicated that the entire attack on the police team in Kanpur Dehat's Bikru village was pre-planned.

Earlier on July 15, Manu was detained by Kanpur police on but was released the next day after questioning.

Shashikant is the son of Vikas Dubey's maternal uncle Prem Prakash, who was killed in an encounter with Uttar Pradesh on July 3. Shashikant was arrested on July 14 with the rifles which Dubey and his associates had looted from the police.

During the investigation, Shashikant admitted that he, Vikas Dubey, Amar Dubey, Prabhat Mishra, Bauva and Atul Dubey were among those who executed the gruesome incident.
