Lucknow: In a bid to create employment opportunities for artisans across the country, the Ministry of Minority Affairs is going to organise the Hunar Haat in Lucknow from January 22 to February 4.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Aditynath and Union minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi will inaugurate the event. The theme of the Hunar Haat is 'vocal for local'.
Speaking to ETV Bharat in this regard, Union minister Naqvi said," Our country has a legacy of great craftsmen and artists and Prime Minister Narendra Modi has provided Hunar Haat as a platform for them to showcase their skills. The Hunar Haat is a platform for everybody from Kashmir to Kanyakumari where artists and craftsmen take part in this initiative and benefit from it."
"The Hunar Haat in Lucknow is the 24th and the next will be held in Mysore. About 500 artisans, craftsmen and culinary experts will be at the 'Hunar Haat' in Lucknow to display and sell their handmade products. Artisans and craftsmen from 31 states and Union territories are participating in the event," he informed.
Notably, products made of bamboo, wood, brass and cane; iron toys; herbal products; and products with indigenous prints like ajrakh, batik, bagh and bandhej, will be available at the Haat.
