Ballia(Uttar Pradesh): Two houses collapsed in Purwa Chaube Chhapra of Gangapur village of Ballia district due to floods. According to reports, soil erosion is believed to be the cause of the incident.
As the water level is decreasing, the people of the village are in a panic due to continuous soil erosion because of the descending waves of the River Ganga.
According to reports, houses of local residents Munna Yadav and Sunil Yadav collapsed within seconds due to constant soil erosion in the region.
The officials have been issuing notices to people to vacate the house from the flood zone area.
Since August, floodwater has started to wreak havoc on the villages due to the constantly rising Ganga water level in Ballia. Some of the villages of the Ballia district- Chubey Chhapra, Lala Udyan, Gangapur, Sughar Chhapra, Keharpur, Majhouwa, Garaya, Badilpur have been engulfed by the floodwaters.
The water level in Ballia crossed the danger level of 58.610 cm, due to constant rain in the hills and the plains, these areas got affected with the rise in the level of three cm per hour, as per the records.
Earlier, In 2003 and 2013, Ballia has suffered severe floods. But this time it has broken all the previous records.
