Banda (Uttar Pradesh): A ward boy and a pharmacist have been punished by hospital authorities in Uttar Pradesh after they misbehaved with a coronavirus patient, according to reports.
Authorities at Banda Government Medical College said, a pharmacist posing as a doctor along with a ward boy molested a COVID-19 patient on the pretext of a check-up.
Hospital staff rushed to help the patient when she called for help.
Later, a viral video showed two people being punished by hospital authorities.
Reports say the hospital wanted to send a strong warning to staff that mischief with patients will not be tolerated.
No formal complaint has been registered with the police, but the hospital said it has formed a panel to further investigate the incident.
