Lucknow: Ahead of the 2022 assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, the official website of the Uttar Pradesh assembly was hacked and objectionable content were posted on it. After getting information about this episode, Uttar Pradesh Development Systems Corporation Limited, the state government's organization that operates this website, has lodged an FIR in the cyber police station of Lucknow on Wednesday.

Assistant manager of UP Desco Ramashankar Singh said that the website www.upvidhansabhaproceedings.gov.in of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Secretariat has been hacked and objectionable posts were published on the website. The website is managed by the Pune-based tech service company Persistent Limited.

"Meanwhile, a case has been registered in the matter under the Information Technology (Amendment) Act 2008, 66C at Cyber ​​Crime Police Station of Lucknow," he added.

Ram Kumar, ADG, Cyber ​​Crime said that a case has been registered and the investigation is underway. Soon the accused will be arrested and strict action will be taken against them.

Earlier, the UP police have arrested a 24-year-old man for allegedly hacking into the Election Commission of India (ECI) website and creating hundreds of fake voter IDs.
