Ghaziabad: A Ghaziabad's Dasna jail inmate, accused of committing murder, has scored more than 70% in class XII UP Board examinations, the highest among prisoners, a senior official said.
Arun, who was lodged in the prison since 2014 on a murder charge, appeared for the higher secondary examination of UP Board from the prison examination centre here.
Jail DG Anand Kumar congratulated Arun on his performance.
"Arun's behaviour is good in comparison with the other prisoners," Anand Kumar said. The view that prisons produce criminals is now changing, DG added.
More opportunities of higher education will be provided to jail inmates and convicted criminals if they are interested in getting education, he said.
