Varanasi (UP): Two street dogs from Uttar Pradesh's Varanasi have been adopted by the citizens of the Netherlands and Italy. According to sources, Italy's Veera Lazzaretti and Netherlands' Mirel Bonten Bel are adopting bitches Moti and Jaya respectively. Sources said that the passports of both the dogs have been made and the other arrangements have been completed.

The street dogs of Kashi have been adopted from the Animal Care Trust of Varanasi. Trust's chief physician Dr. Indranil Basu said that all standards have been followed in the adoption process. He said that Moti has been given an anti-rabies vaccine. At the same time, Sandip Sen Gupta, a member of the trust, said that Moti has been microchipped, so that it can be identified at the airport.

Sandeep Sen Gupta said, "A digital number has also been generated from the microchip that has been installed on Moti so that it can be identified at the airport. The chip contains a 15-digit number. After scanning it all the details will be found. A lab in Portugal has stamped her blood report. All the official process has been completed."
