Russian woman commits suicide in Mathura

The woman jumped from the fifth floor of a residential building in Mathura. Police suspect the woman took the extreme step as she was suffering from mental illness.

Mathura: A 40-year-old foreign national committed suicide on Saturday night by jumping from the fifth floor of a residential building near Vrindavan police station in Mathura in Uttar Pradesh.

The woman has been identified as Tanya Hemeloshkia a Russian citizen. Police said the incident took place at around 7 pm when no one was there at her home.

Mathura city SP, MP Singh said, “As per statements of deceased's friends, Hemeloshkia left the flat in the evening. The primary probe suggests that he went to the fifth floor and jumped into the duck.”

"Local residents were alerted and she was rushed to the hospital, where she was declared dead. We have launched a probe to ascertain the reason behind her such a step. Meanwhile, one of his friends said that she was mentally unstable and she had a tenacity meet Lord Krishna,” added the inspector.

Cops suspect that the victim took the extreme step as she was suffering from mental illness. A suicide case was registered.
