Cop in Yogi Adityanath's security contingent tests COVID-19 +ve

A cop deployed for Uttar Pradesh's Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's security tested COVID-19 positive on Monday. Officials said that other cops who came in direct contact have isolated themselves, however, contract tracing is underway.

Lucknow: A Deputy Commissioner of Police who was deployed in Yogi Adityanath's security contingent in Gautam Buddh Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh tested positive for coronavirus, an official said on Monday.

According to reports, cop's son has also tested positive and they have been shifted to Yatharth Hospital in Greater Noida. Sources revealed that most of the cops have isolated themselves and contract tracing is underway.

Meanwhile, the active coronavirus cases in Uttar Pradesh reached 47890 on Monday, however, 72650 have been discharged and 2069 fatalities have been reported so far.
