Chhannulal Mishra seeks CCTV footage of Medwin hospital

Celebrated Hindustani classical singer Padma Vibhushan Pandit Chhannulal Mishra has sought the CCTV footage from Varanasi's Medwin Hospital administration, in connection with the death case of his elder daughter Sangeeta Mishra, alleging negligence.

Varanasi: In the recent development to the death case of Padma Vibhushan Pandit Chhannulal Mishra's daughter, the family on Saturday has sought the CCTV footage from the hospital administration alleging negligence.

The district administration has formed a three-member team to probe the case.

The family stated that even after 20 days they have not received any inputs on the investigation.

They have also announced to seek the intervention of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

On April 29, celebrated Hindustani classical singer's elder daughter Sangeeta Mishra succumbed to Covid at Medwin Hospital in Varanasi.

The family alleged that the hospital management did not allow them to meet her for seven days before her death.

After appealing to PM Modi, the District Magistrate mediated a conversation between both parties through video conferencing.

The family questioned that doctors assured them that Sangeeta was doing well then how come they announced her death all of sudden.

Chhannulal Mishra's younger daughter Naramata Mishra said that they are seeking the CCTV footage to ascertain the truth but Dr Manmohan Shyam, Managing Director at Medwin hospital, is denying them access.

The family has also demanded the closure of Medwin Hospital on finding the hospital administration guilty.

Chhannulal Mishra's family has lost two members within the gap of three days. The family is in a state of shock and is seeking justice.
