Etah (Uttar Pradesh): A leader of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was killed while his wife and daughter critically injured in a road mishap on Aliganj-Etah road under Bagvala police limits in Uttar Pradesh's Etah district on Sunday after his car rammed a Nilgai and overturned.
The deceased has been identified as Praveen Kumar, a BJP leader hailing from Nawaganj of UP's Farukhabad.
According to sources, the mishap took place this morning when Kumar along with his wife and daughter was heading towards Farukhabad from Agra.
Suddenly, Kumar lost control over the wheels, following which the vehicle hit a Nilgai crossing the road, dashed against an electric pole and overturned, sources said.
While Kumar died on the spot, his wife and daughter rescued by locals in critical condition and hospitalised for treatment.
On being informed by locals, police reached the spot, recovered the body for post-mortem and started an investigation. The police registered a case of unnatural death and further investigation is underway, sources added.
