Ghaziabad: Hours after four members of a family were shot dead in Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad district, a similar incident was reported from the Loni area where some unidentified miscreants shot a Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader on Tuesday morning.
As per reports, Jagat Singh, a member of the BSP from the Loni municipality area, was shot when he was reading a newspaper outside his house. The bike-borne miscreants fired six rounds out of which one bullet hit Singh's leg. He was later rushed to the hospital where his condition is said to be stable.
Singh said that miscreants could not succeed in their plan and fled the spot after firing indiscriminately at him. "I don't have enmity with anyone as such, but some might be considering me as their political rival," he added.
Loni's Circle Officer Atul Kumar Sonkar said that a case has been registered regarding the incident and investigation is on to nab the culprits. It is to be noted here that as many as four members of a cloth trader's family at the Loni area were shot inside their home by unknown miscreants on Sunday night. All four of them later succumbed to bullet wounds.
