Bharat decides 2019: Polling begins in Uttar Pradesh
Lucknow: Voting for fourteen Lok Sabha seats begins in Uttar Pradesh on Monday. People will see a clash among top leaders including Congress president Rahul Gandhi, Union ministers Rajnath Singh and Smriti Irani and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi.
In 2014, BJP has won 12 seats barring the Congress bastions of Amethi and Rae Bareli.
However, the big obstacle in the way is the Samajwadi party (SP)-Bahujan Samaj Party(BSP)-Rashtriya Lok Dal(RLD) alliance.
In Amethi, Rahul Gandhi is pitted against BJP nominee Irani who was defeated by the Congress leader in the 2014 general elections. Sonia Gandhi, who is seeking re-election from the Raebareli seat, is contesting against BJP's Dinesh Pratap Singh among other candidates.
BJP's Rajanth Singh, SP-BSP's Poonam Sinha and Congress' Pramod Krishnam are in the fray from Lucknow.
Also in the fray is Congress leader Jitin Prasad from Dhaurahra in UP.
