Ayodhya: Emphasizing that a mosque is the house of Allah and it must not be a thing of the showcase, Iqbal Ansari, one of the litigants in the Ayodhya title suit, has rejected the design of the mosque and hospital presented by the Indo Islamic Cultural Foundation (IICF).

Interacting with ETV Bharat here, Ansari said that IICF head Jafar Faruki was taking decisions on his own without consulting anyone concerned.

"He is behaving autocratically in matters concerning construction of the mosque in Ayodhya," Ansari said, adding that the Muslims of India have faith in the constitution and had accepted its decision on the matter but they don't want the building of the proposed mosque to be a show-off.

"We love our country and want a mosque of Indian style and not that of based on foreign design," he said, adding that only the money earned through right means should be used in the construction.

Ansari wants simple mosque

All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) has also opposed the IICF design unveiled last week. Zafaryab Jilani, an important member of the AIMPLB, said the design was against the Shariat law.

IICF was formed by Uttar Pradesh Sunni central waqf board after the Supreme Court verdict in the Ayodhya land dispute case in November last year. Five acres of land was awarded to the UP Sunni Central Waqf Board for construction of the mosque.

The Uttar Pradesh Sunni Central Waqf Board accepted the land provided for construction of the mosque in February this year.
