Kushinagar: Akanksha Singh from Delhi scored 720 out of 720 marks and bagged AIR 2 in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), the result of which was released on Friday night.
Odisha's Soyeb Aftab and Delhi's Akanksha Singh scored 720 out of 720 marks but Aftab has been ranked first and Singh second as per tie-breaking policy as elder ones get the first spot.
According to officials, the tie-breaking policy takes into account factors such as age, subject-wise marks and number of incorrect answers.
A total of 7,71,500 candidates have qualified the exam for which over 13.66 lakh candidates had appeared.
Akanksha Singh's mother Ruchi Singh is Principal at Semra Dhusi, Government Primary School, Kasya Block in Kushinagar, and her father Rajendra Kumar Rao, an ex-sergeant of the Indian Air Force.
According to the family, Akanksha made preparations at an institution in Gorakhpur but seeing her talent, the institution sent her to its top-campus in Delhi. After this, she prepared with full devotion, which led to her big success today.
