8 killed, 11 injured in road accident in UP

8 killed and 11 got injured in a road accident on Moradabad-Agra national highway while all the victims were returning from a marriage ceremony on Tuesday night.

Sambhal (UP): At least 8 persons were killed and 11 others were injured when their vehicle collided with a mini goods carrier on the Moradabad-Agra national highway on June 18, police said Wednesday.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Yamuna Prasad said that the accident took place late Tuesday night near Lehrawan village.

"The incident took place on Moradabad-Agra national highway near the Lehrawan village when all of them were returning home after attending a marriage ceremony," the SP said.

Meanwhile, the injured were hospitalised and the deceased were sent for postmortem, he added.
