Lakhimpur (UP): Police on Tuesday nabbed three people for allegedly trying to convert people into Christianity.
The incident came to light after the Hindu Jagran Manch members reached the spot, nabbed the accused and alerted the police about the incident.
The police arrested three persons including the main accused and FIR has been registered against them.
According to villagers, incidents of religious conversion were reported for many days in the area.
In July this year, two priests Azad and Kahadi Yadav, were arrested on charges of forcible conversions in Rae Bareli.
Similar attacks were reported from Jaunpur, Robertsganj, Varanasi and Gorakhpur in the eastern region.
