11 booked for misbehaving with medical staff in Kaushambi

Police in Kaushambi district of Uttar Pradesh have registered a case against 11 people for allegedly abusing and not allowing a medical team to carry out its duty. Searches are being conducted at various places to arrest the people involved in the incident.

Kaushambi (Uttar Pradesh): A case has been registered against 11 people for misbehaving with a team of doctors and medical staffers under Karari police station area here, police said.

Additional Superintendent of Police Samar Bahadur Singh told ETV Bharat that the police are in the process of identifying people involved in the incident and the arrests would be made soon.

He said the medical team, which was visiting Agiyona village of the district to conduct tests for possible coronavirus cases, was abused and not allowed to work by locals. The police reached there soon after the doctors informed them about the incident.

Singh said raids are being conducted and the people involved would soon be arrested.

A few days ago, four people were found coronavirus positive in the village and the medical team had gone there to test their family members for the highly contagious disease.
