Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh): Yogi Adityanath government has asked the officials of 10 districts in Uttar Pradesh to submit reports by November 20 on the incidents of stubble burning.
According to a Home Department statement, the District Magistrates and Superintendents of Police (SPs) of Mathura, Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur, Rampur, Lakhimpur Kheri, Maharajganj, Bareilly, Aligarh, Jalaun and Jhansi have been asked to submit their reports on stubble burning by November 20.
The state government directives came in the view of the stern stand taken by the Supreme Court which will summon the chief secretaries of Haryana, Delhi, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh on November 29.
On November 6, the apex court had asked Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Punjab governments to provide Rs 100 per quintal assistance within seven days to small and marginal farmers to help them in burning stubble to clear their fields.
The four state governments will also have to file a compliance report in this regard by November 25.
