Nirmal: Businessman Vijaychander Deshpande was abducted by unidentified people in Nirmal district. Vijaychander was later tracked down by police in Toopran area of Medak district and five accused were detained. Police tracked Vijaychander's phone signals and examined CCTV footage in areas concerned.
The case was registered following a complaint lodged by the realtor's family members. As per the complaint, he was abducted by four people from his flat in Thanvi apartments. As per reports, the police's preliminary conclusion suggests that real estate transactions and land acquisition would be the reason behind the abduction. Two months ago, Vijay bought land worth Rs 2 crore in Sangareddy and it led to a tussle. Further investigation is underway. The kidnap created panic among locals.
In a similar incident, another realtor Vijay Bhaskar Reddy from Nellore in Andhra Pradesh was kidnapped and murdered on July 20. The incident happened at a hostel in Addagutta behind the KPHB colony in Hyderabad. Feud over financial transactions was found to be the reason behind the murder.
