Hyderabad (Telangana): Telangana state on Wednesday crossed the significant milestone of two crore jabs. The state authorities took 165 days to administer the first one crore vaccine shots while a mere 78 days were taken to vaccinate another one crore people.
The state government has also decided to conduct a special COVID19 vaccination drive from Thursday onwards. All eligible people in the state will be vaccinated. Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar and Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao held a meeting with district collectors and officials about this special vaccination drive for everyone above the age limit of 18 years. Somesh Kumar said that Chief Minister KCR has set a target of vaccinating three lakh people daily.
The special drive plans to vaccinate another 2.80 crore people above the age group of 18. As of now, 1.45 crore people have taken their first dose while another 55 lakh people were administered the second dose.
