Devotees bid adieu to Ganesha after 9 days of pomp and splendour
This year's Ganesh Chaturthi festivities were held with great pomp and show as the festivities remained low key amid the pandemic last year. The Ganesh idol immersion procession went off peacefully in Hyderabad on Sunday. Ganapathi received immense love and respect and venerations during the nine days of Chaturthi. On Sunday, the idols peacefully through 14 routes across the city reached Hussain Sagar lake where they were later immersed. The immersion programme is likely to continue until today afternoon. Tankbund, Necklace road, lower tank bund, Khairtabad areas saw large crowds of devotees who sent off Ganesha by performing dance. A large number of youth and women participated in the procession. Other than Hussain Sagar, Ganesh immersion was done in 25 other water bodies.
