Hyderabad: 4 arrested, Rs 1.43 cr illegal tobacco seized

Hyderabad city police on Monday seized illegal tobacco products worth more than one crore and arrested four members of a gang involved in its sale and transportation. The accused men include their kingpin Avala Abhishek, Shabbir Moinuddin, Syed Zabir Ahmad and their driver Syed Mahmood.

Hyderabad: Police on Monday arrested four men and seized Illegal tobacco products worth over Rs 1 crore along with the car used by them to transport the seized materials.

Anjani Kumar, Police Commissioner Hyderabad said, "Four members of a gang involved in illegal sale and transportation of noxious chewing tobacco have been arrested."

Kumar said, "Two transport vehicles and illegal tobacco worth Rs 1,43,95,200 is also seized."

"The accused are identified as "Kingpin Avala Abhishek, 35-year, Shabbir Moinuddin, 42 years, Syed Zabir Ahmad 42 and 29-year old Syed Mahmood who worked as a driver," he added.
