Corona victim and family thrown out of Telangana village

A family of daily wage workers who had migrated to Manchippa village in Mopal zone of Nizamabad district were asked to leave the village and had to hide in a compost shed as a member of their family tested Corona Positive.

Nizamabad district (Telangana): A poor family from Gandhari zone of Kamareddy district migrated to Manchippa village in Mopal zone of Nizamabad district three months ago. They are working as daily wage labourers for the livelihood. The villagers objected to their presence when it was confirmed that the head of the family had been infected with corona three days ago.

The entire family, including the victim, hid in a compost shed on the outskirts of the village at the request of the villagers to stay away from the village. The corona infected man was inside the compost shed while his wife, son and daughter had to take shelter outside the shed.

Meanwhile, India has overtaken the US to become the country with the second-highest number of Covid-19 cases in the world. On Monday, Telangana state recorded 1,095 new cases and recorded six deaths. This takes Telangana's Covid-19 tally to 3,13,237 and death toll to 1,723.
