Hyderabad: An LB Nagar Court in Hyderabad has sentenced six culprits to life imprisonment, besides levying them a fine of Rs 20,000 each. The culprits are Shaik Shoukath (35), Mohammed Khalid (22), Mohammed Afroj (20), Abdul Salman Khan (20), Shaik Salman (22) and Muzahid Khan (20). The accused who are all residents of Serilingampally had raped a 25-year-old lady on January 17, 2019, at the Hafeezpet railway station area in the city.
An acquaintance of the victim, who was with her at the time of the offence, had committed suicide following the incident. However, prior to having taken the extreme step, he had provided evidence in the court and a suicide note was also left stating that he was upset with the attack on the victim.
