103-year old Telangana man defeats coronavirus

A 103-year-old man from Telangana who was undergoing treatment at a state-run hospital has successfully recovered from the coronavirus. Paruchuri Ramaswamy expressed thanks to the health workers for their immense contribution in battling the virus.

Hyderabad: A 103-year-old man from Hyderabad city of Telangana successfully recovered from the deadly coronavirus with the local authorities saying that the recuperation has come as a ray of hope for the COVID patients across the nation.

Paruchuri Ramaswamy was undergoing treatment at the state-run Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences (TIMS). He was associated with the Chandra Rajeswara Rao Foundation at Kondapur in Hyderabad.

Ramaswamy expressed gratitude to the staff and administration of medical and health department and to Etela Rajender, state health minister.

Dr. K. Narayana, President of CR Foundation appreciated the services being rendered by Telangana State Government Hospitals, especially the Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences (TIMS), Gandhi Hospital, the Nature Cure Hospital and the King Koti Hospital for the treatment of COVID affected patients.

Recently, 27 inmates of home for the aged, run by CR Foundation got infected by COVID-19. After the treatment, 25 patients recovered, however, two patients succumbed to the lethal virus.

According to a source in Ministry, several senior citizens across the nation have recovered from the deadly virus. India has so far reported 1017754 active cases. Of this, 4112551 patients have been cured and 84372 fatalities have been reported.
