Bengaluru: Expelled AIADMK leader VK Sasikala who tested positive for the coronavirus on Thursday, today developed an infection that spread through her lungs further deteriorating her condition.
The doctors, however, said she is responding well to the treatment.
The 63-year-old jailed aide of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa was taken to Victoria Hospital from Bowring hospital in view of the ineffectiveness CT scan and security at Bowring Hospital on Thursday.
Shashikala's adopted son Dinakaran came to visit Sasikala in Victoria hospital. She has breathing problems, sputum problem and more. He requested fans and supporters not to come to the hospital to visit her till she is discharged.
Sasikala who also suffers from hypertension, diabetes, and hypothyroidism complained of fever and breathing difficulties yesterday.

Earlier, she underwent treatment at Bengaluru Central Jail hospital but was later taken to the Bowring Hospital for a second opinion, media reports said.
Sasikala, lodged at the Parappana Agrahara Prison here, was sentenced to four years imprisonment in February 2017 in the Rs 66 crore disproportionate assets case.
Her illness comes at a time when she is just a week away to walk free from prison on January 27.
