Fire kills two while making crackers in Tamil Nadu

The casualties were caused by a fire that broke out in a house in Sattur town when crackers were being made without permission from the authorities.

Virudhunagar: Two people were killed and three others were injured after a fire broke out when they were making crackers in Tamil Nadu. A 25-year-old man who was identified as Surya was involved in the illegal business at his house in Sattur town in the south of the state, reports said.

Selvamani (35) and Karpagam (35) were killed in the accident and the injured were named as Suriya, Prabhakar and Annabakkiyam. The injured are being treated at a government hospital in Sivakasi. Local emergency services helped bring the fire under control and the police have started an investigation, reports said.
