Chennai: DMK President M.K. Stalin on Friday urged Chief Minister K. Palaniswami to stop class classification of coronavirus affected patients and focus on the protection of the people.
Referring to Palaniswami's statement on Thursday that coronavirus was brought into India from overseas by the rich, Stalin urged the former to stop such humour and focus on preventing the virus spread.
Stalin also asked Palaniswami to carry out coronavirus diagnostic tests on a large number of people in the state and procure necessary equipment.
The Leader of the Opposition in the Tamil Nadu Assembly, Stalin, said he is not politicising the coronavirus issue by not talking about the secrecy in medical procurement for treating Covid-19 and the internal politics that is happening within the ruling party around coronavirus.
At a time coronavirus test results for 1,383 persons are under process Stalin wondered how Palaniswami could say the disease is on the decline in the state citing 25 persons tested positive on Thursday and 36 persons on Wednesday.
