Siddha practitioner's herbal medicine boosts immunity: Committee tells HC

After a Madurai-based Siddha practitioner approached the High Court seeking directions to the Centre to test his herbal concoction as a cure for COVID-19, an expert committee informed the court that the herbal medicine was effective in boosting immunity.

Madurai (Tamil Nadu): An expert committee informed the Madras High Court that a herbal concoction prepared by a Siddha practitioner from Madurai, is indeed effective in increasing immunity.

S Subramanian, a Siddha practitioner from Madurai, had moved the Madurai Bench of the Madras seeking direction to the Centre to test his herbal concoction.

Subramanian, said his medicine 'IMPRO' was a mixture of 66 herbs and boosts immunity. He claimed that taking the medicine regularly would not only boost immunity, but could also be a cure for COVID-19.

The High Court then directed the Directorate of Indian Medicine and Homeopathy (IMH) to constitute a committee of experts to examine the medicine.

After the committee told the court that the herbal medicine was effective in boosting immunity, the court referred the medicine to the Central Council for Research in Ayurveda and Siddha.
