Now, re-usable 'VIRO VETO' clothing to battle coronavirus!

A textile company in Tamil Nadu's Karur has come up with re-usable VIRO VETO clothing to protect against COVID-19 infection. The fabric is mixed with chemicals which ensures 95 per cent safety from viruses and bacteria.

Karur (Tamil Nadu): Amid the heightening tension of coronavirus scare across the nation, various measures have been undertaken by the Centre and state governments to contain the spread of the virus.

One such initiative is Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) clothing used by frontline corona warriors for prevention of the deadly infection but its usage is limited due to its availability and durability.

Hence, industries across India are looking for its alternative and in this direction, a 15-year-old private textile company in the Andankoyil area of Tamil Nadu's Karur district has developed reusable corona apparels.

The clothing is designed to protect the yarn from the virus by mixing them with chemicals. These reusable clinical wear is being exported across the globe after it got approval from the health departments in Chennai and Mumbai.

In an exclusive interaction with ETV Bharat, textile company owner Nallamuttu said that re-usable and washable clinical clothing has been approved safe and protective to the extent of 95 per cent from viral infections.

"The company has imported chemicals from Switzerland and after mixing them with fabric we tested them through HEIQ Viroblock. For the first time in the history of India, we have manufactured VIRO VETO bactericide clothing for COVID-19 protection," Nallamuttu said.

The company is stitching face shield and gloves including full-body covers and it will be distributed to the doctors treating COVID patients free of cost.

"We are also making effort to manufacture protective clothing to be used by police personnel and public," Nallamuttu added.
