Krishnagiri (Tamil Nadu): A weekend trip turned into a tragedy for two-families in Tamil Nadu, including a newly married couple.
On Sunday, G. Perumalsamy (24), and his wife V. Nivedha (20), both from Bargur in Krishnagiri, who got married 15 days before, along with Perumalsamy's sister Yuvarani (20), were visiting a relative Illangovan in Krishnagiri's Uthangarai.
Later in the day, they planned to visit the Pambar dam along with the Illangovan's children- Sneha (18), Kanniga (19), and Santhosh(14).
At the reservoir, when the six of them stood at the edge to click a selfie, Santhosh lost his balance and fell into the water.
A fleeting moment later, four women also fell into the reservoir.
According to reports, Perumalsamy dived in to rescue all, but could only save his sister Yuvarani.
Perumalsamy and his sister have been admitted to a government hospital in Uthangarai.
Sneha and Kanniga were studying at a college in Tiruchengode while their brother Santhosh was a Class IX student.
