Chennai: Considering the water shortage plauging the city of Chennai, an owner of a provision store put up a weird offer for his customers!
The banner outside his shop in Triplicane states that a customer purchasing 1 kg idly/dosa batter can avail one bucket water for free.
CKR Gupta, who runs the 'Idly and Dosa Flour Shop' decided to provide free water to those who buy the batter after considering the water scarcity in Chennai.

The only additional requirement for the customer is that they need to boil the water before using it.
Many people from nearby residential areas, who have noticed the same, started visiting the shop with pitchers to buy batter.
While some say that the shopkeeper is making a profit by issuing this notification as per the circumstances, the latter claims it to be untrue.
Speaking to ETV Bharat, CKR Gupta, the shop owner said: "I am running this shop from 30 years. Initially, we use to grind the batter from the raw materials provided by customers. Later, we started supplying the batter on our own."
"I have been staying here from the last 50 years, but I have never seen water scarcity of such a magnitude in Chennai. Due to this water shortage, workers were not available at the shop on time," he further added.
Gupta further said that his customers and workers asked him to provide water as they have to stand in a long queue and therefore were not able to reach the shop on time.
People agreed to buy 1 kg flour for Rs 35 and a free bucket of water just to meet their daily basic needs.

I was running flour shop about 30 years. intially we grind the rice flours for money from customers. Later we prepare flours on own and sell to customers says shop owner gupta.
Also he added, I had been staying here for 50 years. But i didnt seen this much of water scarcity in chennai. due to this probe workers not coming to shop for right time.
While asking about water for flour announcemnts, Gupta says that, shops workers saying, For getting water we will have to stand for long queue and this was the reason to coming late. Also they demand me to provide little water for basic need, as i am getting water from lorry service. This made me to provide them water and Public nearby to my place also demands the same. So thus i make an offer to public in this way.

சென்னை: திருவல்லிக்கேணியில் உள்ள கடையில் ஒரு கிலோ மாவு வாங்கினால், ஒரு குடம் தண்ணீர் இலவசம் என்று அக்கடையின் உரிமையாளர் அசத்தலான அறிவிப்பை அறிவித்துள்ளார். இதற்கு வாடிக்கையாளர்களிடயே பலத்த வரவேற்பு கிடைத்துள்ளது.
சென்னையில் தலைவிரித்தாடும் தண்ணீர் பிரச்னையை கருத்தில் கொண்டு சென்னை திருவல்லிக்கேணியில் இட்லி, தோசை மாவு கடை நடத்தி வரும் குப்தா என்பவர் இட்லி மாவு வாங்க வருவோருக்கு இலவசமாக தண்ணீர் கொடுக்க முடிவு செய்துள்ளார்.
அதன்படி, ‘ஒரு கிலோ இட்லி, தோசை மாவுகளை வாங்கினால் ஒரு குடம் தண்ணீர் இலவசம்’ என்று அறிவித்தார். இதுதொடர்பான அறிவிப்பை பேனர் மூலம் தனது கடை முன்பு அவர் வைத்துள்ளார். மேலும், அந்த அறிவிப்பில் "ஒரு கிலோ மாவு வாங்கினால் ஒரு குடம் நிலத்தடி நீர் இலவசமாக வழங்கப்படும் என்றும், மாவு வாங்க வரும்போது குடம் கொண்டு வர வேண்டும்" என்றும் தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. அதுமட்டுமல்லாமல் வாடிக்கையாளர்களின் நலன் கருதி குடிநீரை வடிகட்டி காய்ச்சிய பிறகு உபயோகப்படுத்தவும் என்றும் குறிப்பிட்டுள்ளார். இந்த அறிவிப்பை பார்த்த பொதுமக்கள் பலர் இவரது கடைக்கு மாவு வாங்க குடங்களுடன் வரத்தொடங்கி உள்ளனர். தண்ணீர் பிரச்னையை கருத்தில் கொண்டு சூழ்நிலைக்கு தகுந்தாற்போல் இந்த அறிவிப்பை வெளியிட்டு லாபம் பார்த்து வருகிறார்.

ஏனென்று காரணம் கேட்டபோது குடிநீருக்காக வரிசையில் நின்று தண்ணீர் பிடித்துவிட்டு வருவதால் நேரமாகிறது. நீங்கள்தான் லாரியில் குடிநீர் வாங்குகிறீர்களே எங்களுக்கு ஒரு குடம் கொடுங்கள். நாங்கள் நேரத்திற்கு வருகிறோம் என்று கூறினார்கள். சரியென்று கொடுக்க ஆரம்பித்தேன். இதை பார்த்த பொதுமக்கள் சிலர் எங்களுக்கும் இதே போல் குடிநீர் கொடுத்தால் நன்றாக இருக்கும் என்று கூறியதன் விளைவே "ஒரு கிலோ தோசை மாவு வாங்கினால் ஒரு குடம் தண்ணீர் இலவசம் " என்ற அறிவிப்பு, என்றார்.
