Video of assault on women belongs to a family dispute: Police

There have been spurt in violence Barmer district of Rajasthan as number of videos have gone viral depicting the same. Talking about the latest video in the series, police said it was a fight among family members.

Barmer: A video showing people beating an elderly man and some women with sticks is actually of a fight among members of an extended family, police said.

Superintendent of Police, Barmer Anand Sharma told ETV Bharat here that the video that was doing rounds on various social media platforms showing the elderly and the women being beaten up is a clip of the fight among the relatives.

"It's a fight which erupted among women of the family. Male members joined later and they are being seen beating the women and the elderly," he said, adding that a case has been registered and a probe is on to establish the truth.

However, there have been violent incidents in the district and the videos of which could be seen on social media.
