Barmer (Rajasthan): Two persons were killed and two were critically injured, when a big portion of an under-construction well collapsed at Rohilada village in Rajasthan's Barmer district on Thursday night.
The deceased persons identified as residents of the same village were working as labourers.
According to sources, a big portion of a well, which was being constructed, collapsed on Thursday night, burying four labourers under the 200-feet debris.
On being informed about the incident, police, volunteers and villagers rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation. Due to darkness, portable inflatable lights were also brought in to help in the rescue work.
While the rescue team succeeded to take out two labourers from the debris, two others died inside the under-construction due to suffocation.
Immediately, injured labourers were shifted to Barmer DHH for treatment while deceased persons' bodies were sent for post mortem.
