Rajasthan: Unconscious man dies after being left unattended on road

An elderly man was left unattended on the road for around an hour after he fell down unconscious, apparently over the fear of him being a suspected coronavirus case. He was declared brought dead when he was finally taken to the hospital.

Dausa: An elderly man who had fallen down in an unconscious state, apparently due to the fear of coronavirus, died here on Tuesday.

According to the police, cops posted near the Barkat Statue in the city alerted the nearby police station about a man who fell down unconsciously on the road while he was carrying a bag a flour.

The police then reportedly contacted the District Corona Control Team, but it took around one hour for an ambulance to reach the spot.

In the meantime, no person or cop even tried to help the man who was lying unconscious on the road.

Unfortunately, when the man was finally brought to the hospital after much delay, he was declared brought dead.

According to the police, samples of the deceased person are being collected and will be tested for coronavirus. Police added that his postmortem will be conducted only after a conclusive report regarding the same is received.

Meanwhile, neighbours of the deceased told ETV Bharat that the man was a trader dealing with animal food and fodder, and was economically well-off. They further claimed that the man was not afflicted by diseases of any kind, however, he walked 2-3 kilometres on Tuesday afternoon following which his condition might have worsened.
