Captain Ankit Gupta of 10 PARA SF was cremated with full military honours in Rajasthan's Jodhpur district. He was also given the Guard of Honour at his Battalion in the presence of his family.

Jodhpur: The mortal remains of Captain Ankit Gupta were consigned to flames at Digadi cremation ground with full military honours on Wednesday in Rajasthan's Jodhpur district.

People raised 'Bharat Mata ki Jai' slogans while bidding final adieu to the officer of 10 PARA SF. The deceased is survived by his wife and parents.

After the post-mortem, the body of Captain Gupta was taken to the 10 Para Commando Battalion where he was given the Guard of Honour in the presence of his family.

The Special Forces officer had gone missing after he jumped into Kayalana lake as part of his training last week.

The body of Captain Gupta was finally traced on Tuesday on the sixth day of a massive search by around 200 personnel from all three services.

Hailing from Gurgaon, Captain Gupta had married in November and had returned to complete his special training.
