Kaman (Rajasthan): Several police officials who had gone to settle a dispute in a village here were injured after the locals attacked them, officials said on Tuesday.
The incident took place on Monday afternoon, when a number of police personnel reached in Dharamshala village to settle a dispute between two groups, he added.
According to police, a situation of widespread looting and sabotage was triggered after a man, who got injured in a dispute between the two groups last week died on Sunday.
On Monday afternoon, the family of the deceased who went to the house of another group not only pelted stones at them but also on the Kanthwada police, who reached the spot to settle everything.
Following which, additional Superintendent of Police, Bugal Meena, Kaman DSP Devendra Singh Rajawat, DG DSP Madanlal reached the spot along with the quick response team to save the policemen.
As per reports, police then arrested a dozen people for pelting stones and have seized looted goods from their possession.
