Fraudster attempts to extort money in name of Gajendra Singh Shekhawat

A person tried to extort money from a businessman in the name of Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat. The minister has demanded a probe into the incident.

Bikaner: Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat has asked for a probe in the case wherein a fraudster allegedly tried to extort money using his name.


City-based businessman Vinod Bafna received the first such phone call about two months ago. The person who identified himself as Ghansyam Ojha, former mayor of Jodhpur, asked for money to help people affected by coronavirus. He made two more calls later but Bafna recorded the calls and sent the recordings of the conversation to the minister.


Following which the minister has asked for a probe into the matter.


Police have registered the case and is investigating the matter, an official said.
